Nepal Landslide Society (NELS) is a national non-governmental and non-profit professional scientific organization. NELS was registered as a legal body with His Majesty's Government of Nepal under Nepalese law for non-profit organizations in April, 2003 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The secretariat of the Nepal Landslide Society is located at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Nepal Landslide Society is a broad, unifying scientific society with following main activities:

  •  Fostering the human quest for understanding landslides and related phenomena through research and study.

  • Catalyzing new scientific ways of thinking about natural disasters.

  • Applying knowledge and insight to human needs and aspirations and stewardship of the countermeasures against such disasters.

Nepal Landslide Society provides access to elements that are essential to the professional growth of scientists at all levels of expertise and from all sectors: academic, government, business, and industry. It has a common purpose to study the mysteries of our planet and share scientific findings related with natural disaster.
